Little known but nice color theme convention 🙂

All I can say is: not bad for a second year con hosted by a University. And, considering it was completely free, it wasn’t bad at all. While more panels with a wider diversity in panel topics would have been great, there were a few gems among the rocks such as the “How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse” panel and the presentation run by That Guy With Glasses of the Nostalgia Critic. More activities and panels, though, is definitely in the calling for next year. My friends and I spent most of the time lounging and talking with other congoers, perusing the small but good Dealers’ Room and attending random panels. If you like a lot of time to sit around, talk and meet new people, then UCon is good for you. If you’re someone, though, who prefers to always be going and doing something…. you’ll want to stick to Otakon or Anime Boston. The campus was beautiful, but trying to find parking was a nightmare. It’s also a great place to try out new cosplays, see how they fit, how comfortable they are, as well as to enjoy old favorites.

Some cons are better because you can just hang out ❤

The main thing for UCon to focus on, now, is to increase awareness. Many people still don’t even know it exists or that it is, most importantly, completely free. So if you’re in the area of the University of Connecticut next February and you enjoy free things, wearing cosplays and the idea of getting stared at by all the very confused college students, definitely check it out!
