Deadman Wonderland

Deadman Wonderland is the story of Ganta Igarashi, a middle school student who is framed for the brutal massacre of his class, and given the death penalty in a rigged trial. He is sent to Deadman Wonderland, Japan’s only privately owned prison. This prison is like no other; it is an amusement park, where inmates are forced to be entertainment for the masses.

Deadman Wonderland: Creepy Prison o' Doom

Upon his arrival Ganta is attacked by three inmates, who are promptly interrupted by a strange girl who seems to know Ganta. Her name is Shiro, and she becomes Ganta’s first friend on the inside. Ganta soon finds out that he isn’t normal, which is the reason for his farce of a trial. Ganta is something called a deadman, a person that can manipulate his own blood into a deadly weapon. Upon finding this out he learns of the other deadmen, kept deep under the prison. These Deadmen are forced to fight in something called the carnival corpse, where the loser loses a body part based on chance.
